2019 Angelica Organic Farm - FARM JOBS -
Angelica Organic Farm is currently hiring two Farm Crew Members for the 2019 growing season. We are a small, diversified, certified organic and biodynamic vegetable farm located in Glenlyon (between Daylesford & Malmsbury/Kyneton). We are passionate about soil health, regenerative agriculture. agricultural policy, great food and our community. We enjoy growing produce for our 70 member CSA, restaurants and produce shops in our region and Melbourne.
Job Description: The Farm Crew Members will participate in many aspects of the daily farm operations including, but not limited to the following: seed sowing (minor), transplanting of seedlings (major), irrigation, weeding, greenhouse management (pruning/trellising, bed prep), weekly harvesting, post harvest handling, order and CSA share packing, record keeping, CSA distribution and local deliveries. We are looking for two (2) Farm Crew Members - One (1) full-time (37.5 hours/week av.) and one (1) part time (22-30hrs/week), during the 2019 growing season (October 2018 to end of August 2019).
This is an entry level position with opportunity to move into a management position in 2020 for the right person.
**We do not provide housing (or meals) at the farm. Farm Crew Members are responsible for securing their own housing outside of the farm (and within 30 mins drive of the farm) and must have reliable transportation to and from the farm.**
Qualifications: Due to the very demanding physical nature of farm work, comfort with kneeling, squatting, heavy lifting, and repetitive tasks is a must. Applicants will need to be able to lift 25kg and be able to work in all types of weather (sleet, heat, rain, wind, etc). Experience on a production farm is not required, but definitely a plus.
*Please note: Applicants must be available to begin work first week of October/immediately (TBA) and commit to staying through the growing season which ends the last week of August (inclusive). Depending on our production year, opportunities for continued employment through some of September may be a possibility. Excellent farm hands, with positive attitude are always welcome to stay on for the following season(s).

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Benefits – We provide a weekly box of produce during CSA season.
Wages and Rate: Paid hourly at Horticultural Award rate $23.66/hour gross - Casual rate + superannuation + fresh produce during CSA weeks
