PLEASE NOTE: There are a strictly limited number of CSA Share memberships available for a CSA Season, as we literally plan our crop selection, plantings and harvest volumes around our CSA community and therefore the number of 'shares' we are supplying (i.e. bellies we are feeding). From 2018 the CSA produce supply will begin the 1st FRIDAY in FEBRUARY and run through July/early August, with CSA SIGN UP due PRIOR to CHRISTMAS - Exact dates TBA. Each year the exact number of weeks of the CSA seasons may vary. Shareholders will be advised of exact dates for each season in advance by email.
For 2018 as well as our existing standard sized weekly produce ‘box’ (feeds 2 adults & up to 2/3 young kids approx), we will be offering a limited number of ‘half shares’ which would mean fortnightly produce (starting week #1 only) for small households or those who are not home most nights to cook or have 1 household member with food intolerances to some veggies for example, as well as a larger "Family" option aimed more for 4 adult-sized eaters and up to 2 small children…will keep you posted.
HOW DOES YOUR PROGRAM WORK?
What's in a CSA Share?
As a member of Angelica Organic Farm's CSA, you will receive a weekly assortment of our produce share, picked fresh at the farm within 24 hours of box pick up.
Our Standard Full Share feeds approximately 2 - 3 adults or a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children) who like their veggies! It consists of seasonal, freshly harvested vegetables, including familiar as well as more unusual varieties. As 2 adults who cook 5-7 nights of the week ourselves plus making other light meals during the week, we find the mix and volume of 'what's in the box' highly practical, even if we also add some other items regularly from our farmers' market colleagues or elsewhere. N.B.: We can only offer the 1 size weekly share for this year BUT will be looking into fortnightly shares for single member households or those who eat out a bit for the 2018 CSA set up and possibly a larger "Family Share" for those with older or more kids or other household members . Several of our current family members buy 2 full shares!
The weekly box contains 8-12 items (sometimes more but averages 11-12!), depending on the season and availability. Each week's box contains a mix of staple items such as carrots, potatoes, some kind of onion, brassica(s) (e.g. broccoli/cauli/cabbage/kale/kohlrabi), salad/leafy greens mixed with other seasonal items (e.g. cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, garlic). Each week may be slightly varied allowing for a good mix and full variety of what is available. All produce in the box is grown on our farm, with occasional supplementary items. With any supplementary produce items, we will be fully transparent about which other farm it came from and it will always be certified organic or Biodynamic.

Weekly Produce Box Collection
EXCEPT for THURSDAY 13 APRIL the 1st collection (at Easter) WEEK 1 CSA box , YOU will normally pick up your weekly share on FRIDAYS for the duration of the 2017 autumn-winter CSA. Pick up day will be revised at this season's end.
Our collection hubs are: MELBOURNE (Alfred Crescent Nth Fitzroy) and DAYLESFORD (East Street, saving you a trip to Glenlyon UNLESS you are from Glenlyon, in which case we can rearrange farm pick up if necessary to be more convenient?).
This Autumn-Winter harvest season runs for a total of 16 weeks long. A Full Share costs about $45 a week. That amount brings you a lot of fresh produce of incomparable quality, but it also brings you a lot more: a meaningful connection to your food, the land where it grows, the dedicated small team of people who help grow it, opportunities to see and visit the actual production of the crops and a wonderful experience of being a part of an actual working farm and passionate, ethical food community.
The cost of a 2017 Autumn-Winter full share is $720 paid in advance by Friday 7th April. Your Membership Share is only secured once this payment has been received. Note: This pre - payment is non-refundable (you receive full Share Agreement T&Cs prior to commitment). The share price reflects the real costs of growing high quality certified organic vegetables. Compared to supermarkets, greengrocers and many other 'box scheme' delivery services, we can offer you excellent value with uncommonly delicious flavours (have you experienced 'just picked' spuds?), fresh picked at the peak of ripeness, as well as varieties rarely found at the store. Furthermore, the freshness and quality of the produce means it will keep perfectly the entire week, when stored properly by you. You will have the benefit of personally knowing the farm that grows your food and the land it comes from. We believe this ALL adds up to a better value for your food dollar and you cooking and eating experiences.
Payment Plans - Direct Credit Monthly In Advance
Payment plan option available via Direct Credit for monthly payment. Set up in advance with 1st payment commencing Friday 7th April. We will send you AUTOMATED MONTHLY INVOICES IN ADVANCE payment due in advance of the subsequent new monthly instalment throughout the season’s CSA duration. Once your CSA Membership Application is accepted we will require prompt return of the completed Share Agreement form with 1st payment commencing Friday 7th April to secure your membership and activate the Direct Credit option. A refundable security deposit of $100 is required with your first monthly payment and will be refunded at the season’s completion. Your Membership Share is only secured once this payment has been successfully activated and with timely ongoing advance payments.

PICK UP YOUR SHARE - You need to be committed to picking up your share each week, as well as using it. If a member will be away or otherwise unable to pick up, arrangements for someone else to pick it up need to be made. Member shares that are not picked up will not be refunded or made up. If a member will be away or otherwise unable to pick up, consider donating that week's share to a charity, a friend, family member or neighbour or other community member?
KEEP INFORMED and INVOLVED – We encourage all of our members to become active participants in the CSA Program. Read the CSA Newsletters emailed to members to keep in touch with details about what's going on at the farm, how your food is growing, what was harvested for the week. The WEEKLY "What's In The Box" newsletter contains important information about your weekly veg supply for you to plan around.
COMMUNICATE with US - We always appreciate our customers' communication with us! Let us know: What produce item(s) 'rocked your boat'?? Which of our recipes are winners or how you made super modifications? What vegetables were new/obscure to you &/or a struggle? Our transparency re the growing of the food, combined with shared relationship we build between each other and the food, is what makes CSA a unique way to reconnect with food and only as rewarding as what we all contribute to it.
We will offer regular/seasonal farm tours at least twice annually, so that members can experience the farm a little, get to know their farmers and see exactly where their food comes from.
