FARMERS MARKET & FARM GATE SALES

Farm Gate and Farmers Market Sales

Farmers’ Markets - It's now the end of our market season - be back November/December

Please come and meet us and sample the Angelica Organic Farm harvest at the following monthly farmers' markets: Daylesford Farmers’ Market, Collingwood Children’s Farm Farmers’ Market, Hawthorn's Boroondara Farmers’ Market and Slow Food Melbourne Farmers’ Market. Full market details listed below.

Our gourmet garlic is available from late November/early December until April (or until sold out) and we regularly list the current seasons’ vegetables and herbs on the homepage. BE PREPARED; Market day ‘early birds’ score the best selection of produce available from all stalls on the day!

Our stalls generally run from December through to June (give or take a month) with a break over the winter months. We are definitely back at markets by December but please contact us to confirm our stall’s presence during the months just before December.

Farmers’ markets are often the most accessible, affordable and pleasurable way for people to purchase the freshest harvest of mostly organic produce directly from the farmers. The benefits flow both ways. You have the opportunity to know exactly what you are eating by knowing where your food has come from and how it was grown. Being freshly picked, the produce has its optimum quality, nutritional properties and value for money.

They promote ethical consumerism and engagement between urban and rural communities and the land as well as being an important means by which growers can receive full credit for their labour. You are directly supporting family farms, regional communities, sustainable farming practices and therefore our ‘food bowls’ for future generations.

Authentic farmers’ markets such as those registered by the Victorian Farmers’ Market Association (VFMA) endorse and operate under strict, specific principles which dictate predominantly local fresh food sold only by the actual producers, not resellers.
VFMA accredited stall holders (i.e. the real farmers!) display certificates at their stalls, ensuring you of integrity. Only certified organic produce is allowed to be labelled ‘organic’ and stallholders must display proof of certification, whilst market coordinators site this proof prior to stall allocations. Farmers’ markets encourage people to reduce, reuse and recycle by having plastic bag-free policies, fostering the use of reusable shopping bags or trolleys, minimising ‘food miles’ and other carbon footprint contributing shopping habits.
